David Lai, the only returning staff writer, is a junior who loves playing soccer. No matter if he sleeps one hour or 10 hours, he always has a full tank of energy.  He loves MUN, speech and debate, and knows how to speak four languages. Whether he is hanging out with friends, talking to his siblings, doing homework, playing video games or soccer, David is always energetic. He loves writing about sports, politics, MUN, Nobel Peace Prize winners, and more.

This diagram, originally drawn by Chair of History and Social Sciences Ms. Karri Woods, explains non-rapid eye movement (REM) and REM sleep. In REM sleep, “a person’s brain activity, breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure increase, and the eyes move rapidly while closed” according to the National Cancer Institute. After about 90 minutes, you will hit REM sleep, and as the night goes on, the length of REM sleep gets longer over time.

The Bishop’s MUN Team stands behind a #UNGA (United Nations General Assembly) sign, located at  the United Nations Headquarters building. The UN Headquarters building was one of the many tourist attractions the team visited throughout their trip.

In November the Democrats lost the House to the Republicans but the Democrats won the Senate, which put a halt to the Republicans ‘red wave’. The red wave means that the Republicans will trample over the Democrats in the election and win the Senate and House Of Representatives in a landslide and will topple over them like a wave; Republicans are associated with the color red so putting those two things together, one gets the term ‘red wave’.
