Taste, Tradition, and the Scramble for Candy: The Fourth Annual LASO Potluck

From hand-pressed tortillas to a high-energy piñata scramble, the Latin American Student Organization hosted a night of flavors and culture.
Genevieve Wierzynski (‘28) echoed the sentiment that the potluck format was a great choice. “I like how there’s a lot of different options,” she said. “It gives a lot more variety, and you really get to taste all the flavors of the culture.” The spread included a mix of traditional staples, including a pan de yuca-style cheese bread and slices of creamy flan for dessert, as shown in the photo.

The warm aroma of sizzling hand-pressed tortillas and the upbeat rhythm of Latin music drew a crowd to the library terrace on Friday, January 23rd. The fourth annual Latin America Student Organization (LASO) potluck took over the space, turning a typical evening into a celebration centered on food and tradition.
