Obituaries

Anytime the Bishop’s community suffers the loss of a student, faculty, or administration member, The Tower will publish a respectful obituary online or in print, of approximately 300 words, including one portrait. Obituaries will include the standard information: dates of birth and death, survivors, notable biographical information, and information about a funeral service.

All obituaries and articles concerning death will include information about grief counseling resources. Some obituaries may include more extensive or follow up coverage depending on certain circumstances, including the length of the departed’s relationship with the school, and prominence in the community. The editorial team and advisor will determine the appropriate extent of coverage. In the case of a suicide or any other circumstances deemed private, we will omit reference to cause of death.
