Comment Moderation
The Tower encourages thoughtful discussion and respectful debate on our articles. The First Amendment protects citizens from government censorship, but private platforms like student publications have the right to enforce guidelines for constructive discussion. Moderation is not about silencing voices, but ensuring that conversations remain civil, relevant, and safe for our school community.
To maintain a safe and productive educational environment in line with The Bishop’s School mission and values, we have established the following comment guidelines:
- Only members of the Bishop’s School community (students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, and families) may comment.
- Commenters must verify their school affiliation and email address before posting.
All comments are subject to moderation and may be removed if they:
- Contain hate speech, harassment, or personal attacks
- Criticize or insult student work
- Include profanity, obscene content, or threats
- Spread false or misleading information
- Contain spam, advertising, or self-promotion
- Do not contribute meaningfully to the discussion or are off-topic
