The Bishops School burst into color through the celebration of spirit week leading up to spring break. Spirit week brought the campus together through creativity, enthusiasm, and school pride. Each day featured a unique theme inspired by popular musicals, encouraging students to dress up, participate in fun activities, and show their spirit. From Broadway magic to decades throwbacks and a thrilling airband ending, the week was filled with exciting energy.
Monday: Wicked (Pink & Green)
Bishop’s kicked off their first day of spring spirit week with a “Wicked” themed green and pink day, bringing broadway magic to campus while still celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! Students showed off their school spirit by dressing in shades of pink and green, embracing both the colors of the beloved musical (Green for Elpahba and pink for Galinda/Glinda), and for the holiday. From going full out in “Wicked” merch to creatively putting together outfits that captured both colors, the day was filled with excitement as the school came togethers to start the week right off in style.
Tuesday: High School Musical (Jerseys)
On Tuesday, students channeled their inner “Wildcats” by sporting jerseys in honor of the beloved High School Musical movies series. The spirit was high as music was played from the senior lawn, and students enjoyed spikeball on the quad during upper school lunch. Whether students were repping their favorite basketball team or just getting into the Wildcats spirit, the day was filled with enthusiastic participation.
Wednesday: Hamilton (USA Theme)
On Wednesday, students embraced patriotic colors with the Hamilton inspired – USA theme. With all decked out in red, white, and blue, American culture was celebrated. It was a hot day, so during both lunches Rocket Pops (Firecracker Popsicles) were handed out, which was a refreshing treat to the day’s festivities. The combination of vibrant outfits, school wide participation, and a shared sense of national pride made Wednesday a true highlight of the week.
Thursday: Grease/Hairspray (Decades Day)
Thursday transported the campus through time as they dressed in outfits inspired by Grease and Hairspray, showcasing different decades in fashion. Many 80’s inspired outfits filled the halls whether from teachers or students. Adding to the excitement, a scavenger hunt had students searching for their grades’ mascots all over campus. This activity required teamwork and creativity as students raced to uncover their mascot’s location.
Friday: Mamma Mia! (Tourist Day)
Spirit week was wrapped up with a lively Mamma Mia! themed tourist day, where students wore tropical shirts and sun hats, fully embracing the fun and carefree vacation vibe. The day’s events included a limbo competition during upper school lunch where students tested their flexibility and balance while other students cheered them on. The grand ending to the week was Airband, an amazing performance where student groups took the stage with choreographed dances and lip-sync performances. The crowd loved ending their spirit week with airband as each grade’s performance brought cheers as each dance was creative, funny, and unique, making for a spectacular ending to Spirit Week.
As Spirit week came to a close, it was clear that it was more than just themed outfits and competitions –– it was a chance for the Bishop’s community to come together and create lasting memories. The enthusiasm and participation from both students and faculty made this week a true highlight of the school year. Whether it was through bold fashion choices, friendly competitions, or high energy performances, Spirit week was a testament to the strength of unity and pride at The Bishops School.
