From the booming dance floor laid out in the Manchester Board and Dining Room (MBR and MDR) spaces to the extravagant food station, the senior formal committee, led by Mrs. Kaitlin Ritsema, did a phenomenal job organizing the Winter Formal 2025 on Friday, February 21st, with the very fitting theme of “Winter Wonderland”. They successfully made sure it was enjoyable for all high school attendees, from the freshmen to the seniors.
Students immediately rushed onto the dance floor as soon as they walked through the doors of the Cafeteria, which had been transformed into a winter wonderland in just a couple of hours. Walls were lined with white paper to mimic snow and blue LED lights flooded the space to make the theme come to life. Students let it all out on the dance floor, cheering each other on, showing the strong sense of community present at Bishop’s.
Thanks to a strong DJ and enthusiastic students, the dancing at Formal was top-notch. SonSon Santiaguel (‘26), pictured as the farthest on the left, said, “The dance floor was alive, everyone was getting involved, and the DJ made sure to match our energy with their song choices.” Some of the fan-favorite songs include “FE!N” by Travis Scott and “I Love It” by Icona Pop.
Winter Formal offered an abundance of snacks, including a nacho bar with melted cheese and a variety of toppings to decorate your nachos, like salsa, olives, jalepeños, and more. “I was happy that there was a nacho bar because there has not been strong, filling food options at the previous dances,” said Ronik Gupta (27), who attended both dances this year. The ice cream bar was another fan favorite as Sasha Jessen (‘28) exclaimed that “it was a great addition and a nice cool-down snack for the fiery atmosphere of the dance.”
As you can clearly tell from all the smiling faces captured in these group photos, formal 2025 was an overall success. More importantly, students had a great time getting all dressed up on a Friday evening and enjoying the presence of one another after a stressful week of school. Beckett Caine (‘27) believed that it was “a nice and entertaining way to end the busy school week.”
Whether it was a bunch of students gathering by the photo booth, waiting for their turn, or students making their way to the overflowing snack bar, stuffing treats into their faces, everyone was satisfied. Carmen Morera (‘25) “would not have wanted [her] Senior Homecoming any other way.”
